It seems to me that comics are becoming more of a "safe space" than the absolute free speech zone they used to be in the past. Could a book like Preacher, Transmetropolitan or Y: The Last Man even be published in today's market?
You’d kind of need to ask the editors over at Vertigo, as they published all of the titles you listed. But I expect so, yes.
